We take into account the program you choose — whether you’re going on a language trip, a High School Year, or enrolling in a study program. In Dubai, costs are higher than in many other countries and vary by neighborhood and lifestyle. Your monthly budget therefore depends on the number of weeks, the area where you stay (such as Dubai Marina, Jumeirah, Downtown, or Deira), and what is included in your accommodation.

How does our calculation work?
AtSkool uses a transparent, up-to-date, and experience-based method to determine your monthly costs in Dubai as realistically as possible.
- First, we identify which program you are following. In a High School Year, accommodation and meals are often included, while for language trips and study programs this varies per package. The more that is included, the lower your personal expenses will be.
- Next, we analyze your destination within Dubai. Luxury and central areas such as Downtown, Palm Jumeirah, and Dubai Marina are more expensive. Neighborhoods like Deira or Al Barsha are often more affordable. We directly incorporate these differences into your cost estimate.
- We then consider the duration of your stay. A short language course involves different expenses compared to a full academic year. The longer you stay, the more accurately we can estimate your average monthly budget.
- Your type of accommodation is also included in the calculation: host family (less common in Dubai), student residence, campus housing, or shared apartment. Some accommodations include meals, while others do not — and this makes a significant difference in daily expenses.
- In addition, we include current local prices for groceries (often imported), transportation (metro, tram, and taxis), activities, dining out, sports, school materials, and personal needs. Dubai offers both affordable options and luxury possibilities — your lifestyle choices determine the level of your monthly expenses.
- Finally, we base our estimates on the experiences of previous AtSkool students in Dubai. Their actual monthly expenses provide a reliable and realistic picture of what students typically spend per type of program and per neighborhood.
